James Johnson was born in Wichita, Kansas. At thirteen years of
age, he discovered the guitar. His first guitar was from a Sears &
Roebuck catalog for which he paid $35.
He was first inpired to pick up the instrument after hearing
guitar great Eddie Van Halen's work on the song, "Running With
The Devil", off Van Halen's first album of the same name. James
says, "Music has always been a huge influence in my life. It is
the reason I play guitar. Life would not be the same without the
two."
You can hear some of James' handiwork on the guitar solo
sections of Slaves Wage's self-titled, four song, debut CD,
available at the Slaves Wage store page on this site.
James enjoys going to live shows, writing & recording, good food
& good times!
